We Need People to Come Off the Sidelines
Mira Sorvino: We've seen a job growth recovery in certain industries to prepandemic levels and not so much in other industries. She says the labor force is almost flat with where it was in terms of size from February of 2020. The bulk of that drawdown came in the bottom 40% of income earners, she says. Borger: Is there enough focus on people at the lower end of the spectrum who are probably not still sitting on a lot of savings?
