"Waitlists are getting more popular as a tool," says LZ Granderson. "If you have an acceptance where you know you'd go there over this other college that has waitlisted you, deny the spot on the waitlist." Don't make your students feel bad about an acceptances they have, especially if it's one of the only acceptances they do have and the others are waitlists., he adds.
