This month marks 80 years since a bold Second World War attack destroyed two dams in Germany's industrial heartland. The Dambusters Air Raid has taken on something like legendary status in Britain's collective remembering of the war, immortalised in books and films. And to mark the anniversary, the last surviving airworthy Lancaster bomber flew this week over Lincolnshire where the Dambuster Squadron was based. In 2013, Simon Watts spoke to George Johnny Johnson, who was one of the original Dambusters.
