Is There a Relationship Between the Sisters and the Mother?
If you give something back, which is exactly the same value, then what happens is that means that you no longer have debt to each other. And so you've basically destroyed your relationship with them. You cut ties with them because you're saying, okay, we just did a mercantile exchange. Now we have no relationship anymore. So I find it strange that the author doesn't mention anything about debt and repayment of debt and feelings of obligations towards one another.
