Bobby B And Ricky Nelson's Hello Mary Lou Pity had written a song. Spector knew that when he gave you a song he was going to give it to every other producer who came rocking as well. He phoned them up and told them to come out to LA to record the song and they said no. The crystals had become sick of Spector. They'd made them record songs like He Hit Me and It Felt Like A Kiss but hadn't seen any money from their two big hits.Spector needed a new group in LA that he could record during the song before someone else did it.
