We tend to reward those things that we think make the company productive and profitable. Sales and profits are almost like lagging indicators, they're not at the top of the food chain. What actually is getting and driving things like prophets and ah and sales, has to do with culture. Is it a psychologically safe environment? Are people empowered to offer better ideas in team meetings? Those are the upstream indicators that lead to organizations being more effective. To build a good culture, you need to lead with the human element front and centre. We need to alert leaders of all organizational sizes about n p ts which leads to work on one person's plate for too many shapes and sizes. It reduces overall productivity
