You Can Lead a Horse to Water, but You Can't Make Him Drink Like

The old expression that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink like rings true in this situation. And i would add one other grouping of people on to that, which is the people who drain the life out o you. Even if they're doing everything right, even if ik like they're following everything you're doing. But just interacting with that person makes your day awful. Just means, like, here's a good example.
