The Hays Code
The Hays code was established by Will H. Hays, who was the president of the motion picture producers and distributors of America from 1922 to 1945. It's this ridiculous and hilarious list of rules of kind of do's and don'ts and be careful about. For example, they weren't allowed to show any obviously nothing sexual, nothing suggestive, nudity or profanity. No portrayals of white slavery was allowed during this time.
