The prosperity gospel is really kind of like the crescendo of the marriage between Christianity and big business, in some sense. It's just this idea of you can, if you want something, just give money and it'll happen for you. Joel O'Steiner doesn't have any pastoral or theological training; he was a Pentecostal pastor before his father became a television producer. If you believe that God will prostrate and your finances will be better then explicitly train yourself to do so.
