Is There a Competition for Neurons to Be Included in the Memory?
There's a lot of gene expression changes that happen after training. And another thing that's interesting and to bring up, right off the bat is how do the neurons in the hippocampus know when to get active or are actually included in the memory? So there was a lot of previous work that was done by Elsinos Silva's lab initially. Then Sheena Droslin showing that the excitability of individual neurons dictates whether they get included in the memories.
