I think it's well done and absolutely you find yourself in the shoes of Rama. The character trying to understand. And which made me wonder does Rama reminds me of Capote in Cold Blood? In your mind does Rama come in with an idea of the story she thinks she's going to write and how does that change over the course of the trial. So yes in answer to what you say I think somewhere there is a desire or maybe a feeling that she might want or desire to write a book a little bit in the van of a Truman Capote with this story.
