The big students will spend anything up to 15 million dollars on an Oscar campaign for their film. Most of the films that now get considered for Oscar attention aren't huge blockbusters they're smallish movies and the amount of box office they can reap from an Oscar nomination is huge. The performer gets elevated to a new level where they suddenly become considered for huge films their career takes off.
