The Second Concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart knew that he needed to present a huge contrast to the first movement. There are very few concerto movements that end in such a strikingly quiet way. The A theme is called childlike so often that it is truly a cliche, but the naivete of it is especially profound after the brooding complexity of the firstmovement. It's also here that we really take advantage of the clarinet sound, that new sound to the orchestra. Their martial rhythms are not welcome here.
