If it's not emergent, and yet you still feel the need for a chest tube, ask yourself if the patient doesn't deserve some degree of sedation. You don't need the entire rigamrol of a procedure sedateon with all the nursing and consent and all that crap. So i really like to give two milligrams medas. And then pull back a millimeter, and then make sure you don't have air that tells you you're right at the parietal plura. And then give like another three or four c cs right at that point. That that hopefully will anastotize a very well enervated parietal pluri.
