Netflix is going to make fewer projects in general because they want every project to have a bigger cultural impact. Ted Saran will not sleep until he has that best picture Oscar, and the fact that Apple got it before him has got to just be a constant annoyance. The motion picture Academy wants to require larger theatrical releases for movies to be eligible for best picture.
