Ettory left alarming notes for Corelli and his family. In the first letter, he confessed to making an unavoidable decision that would lead to his disappearance. The second letter claims that the sea rejected Ettory. All that accepted, Ettory likely drowned and his body was swept out to sea or eaten by predators.
