Cook Swamp - A Mosaic Landscape
People at Cook Swamp used wooden digging sticks to turn over the soil and pile it up, leaving a network of drainage channels. Stone tools we find at the site contain traces of Taro residue. The micro remains from soil in this period tell us what people were growing and eating. Banana is way too common for what would have been a grassland environment.
