The Importance of Humor in Skeleton

Doug: I think one of the successes of spelunky we've talked about this in previous episodes but even compared to some other roguelike games is that the game doesn't really feel like it takes itself seriously so it feels like it's leaning into the comedy. He says he still sees people linked to funny skate videos for him because video culture was such a huge deal at the time and they basically built in the camera on the other skater. Doug also said when you examine a death and determine there was really nothing you could have done differently to avoid it is that particularly frustrating and something developers should always strive to avoid.
