In the Soviet Union, nobody owned anything. In 1998, inflation was 84%. Right? So we're talking about a society that is completely unstable and unpredictable. And so you've got a huge amount of assets to divide and a deeply corrupt mentality already in place. Of course, those assets, that wealth is going to accumulate in the hands of a small minority of people who are prepared to rob steel murder for their own gain.
