The Multi-Bim Eco-Sonics Are Just Like Mowing the Lawn, Right?
The multibim eco-sounders emit a fan of soundings that goes to the sea floor and then scans a swath of the sea floor. The difference is when you move the lawn, you're not going over the hole that was left by the most explosive eruption in 100 and something years. We can see the channels where essentially the pyroclastic flows would have flown,. And so we can see the sediment waves and bed forms that they're forming due to the deposit of the different sediment settling down on the seafloor.
