The Pros and Cons of Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing
In addition to IVF, there's another type of screening that happens called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis or screening. This is a procedure used in conjunction with IVF to reduce the risk of passing on inherited conditions. A lot of times these embryos are completely discarded and not even considered if a positive test comes back saying they're abnormal.
