Is There a Difference Between Possible and Impossible?
Even among linguists who don't consider themselves generativist, that's something that they all are trying to do as well. So Adger's idea about distinguishing between possible languages and impossible ones, I think sort of has this problem too. But the difference between possible and impossible and probable and improbable, there's a sort of limiting point where it's very hard to distinguish between them.
