How Much Would a Property Be Worth if There Was Nothing on It?
There's ways to figure out what the value of the land would be and how much it increased by things other people have done. One of the ways you can do that is compared to similar properties nearby that don't have anything on them. Often those buy a shittle because it hasn't been maintained in 60 years, knock it down. And then they eat that cost and then they build a nice parking lot that they could turn around itself for just a million dollars. In which case, the building was actually worth negative money, so you have to pay to knocked it down.
