The author is a former marine and military intelligence officer. He was deployed all over the world, including inside the arctic circle in the oil fields. After retiring he decided to do some outdoor work at his home outside fairbanks, alaska. While building a pile of brush for an upcoming book, he lit himself on fire. The experience inspired him to write more realistic thrillers with real-life characters.
