The Financial Incentives of Airlines' Confidentiality
A reliable operation is cheaper to run than an operation that's not dependable. The financial incentives could be a lot higher if passengers were allowed to take their tickets elsewhere after a long delay or cancellation. When I was a spirit, no airline would even talk to us about re-accommodating our passengers when we had problems. At any price, they just wouldn't talk to us.
