Is There Still a Fed Put?
Inflation is piking, right? So you've seen wage growth come down a little bit. If we see inflation move low enough, fast enough that the fed feels like it can maintain its credibility and back off its current path, that's the soft landing scenario. But to steve's point, intrest rates are a blunt force tool, and they also operate with a lag. They're sort of feeling around in the dark, trying to destroy enough demand to get inflation under control. And that's a very hard thing to do.
