The Relationship Between Sam Rayburn and Lyndon Johnson
Sam Rayburn and Lyndon Johnson were on the same footing as each other. Roosevelt wouldn't let that telegram be sent, unless both names were on the equal. And so now Johnson has reached a new plateau of power. The relationship gradually reestablished itself.
