I used to be an engineer before and I left my PhD program in order to be a writer. And that's it like I was going to write novels and I've written five drafts of it and I've never completed it. The art is instant or relatively quick gratification for you as the artist but it's also very easy to get someone to look at it and know if they like it or they don't like it, which is not the case with writing. So it makes sense for me to lean on being an artist for a while because it's so much easier to get people to understand what I'm trying to do.
