Direct Instruction for Disabled Children

After six months teachers reported that their students were reading at a level they had thought unimaginable for inner city minority students. Teachers attitudes toward direct instruction changed dramatically to many the supervision was seen as the most positive aspect of the model. Often low-ability children on top of the fact that disadvantaged children sometimes they're disadvantaged and low-ability so like low IQ but then they actually perform really well when they're given this direct instruction stuff.
