The Role of Fairy Godmothers in Folklore
Jenna Jorgeson teaches fairy tales in folklore at Butler University. The term fairy tale comes from a writer known as Madame Dunois. She was part of a group of women in these writing salons, and their stories had Fairy godmothers all over the place. They played a lot of the supporting roles in the story who would be helper figures or antagonists.
