The Woodwind Web: A Seductive Idea

The term woodwind web was actually coined by the journal Nature in 1997. I think most people would understand it to mean that, especially in forests, their root systems are all connected by these fungal conduits. And there's stuff flowing here and everywhere, you know, through these high fold connections. So the image seems to be of one giant interconnected system which is what I take from the wood wide web.
