The Driving Out of the Chinese
There's a period that leads up to the passage of the Chinese exclusion act. The railroad is completed What once took six months to two years to get from the east coast to the west coast is now reduced to seven days. My great grandfather was able to help so many people Because he was a legitimate merchant, but even as a merchant you had to provide to the government every six months a list of your partners. It actually became a way to make money for my great grandfather.
