Is the Interference Effect More About Nutrition?

Could the interference effect be less about competing signals and more about insufficient nutrition? I do think it's a question worth asking, even if there's nothing there. Too many of the concurrent training inter rence effect studies neglect to address nutrition. One example iis a study that looked at concurrent exercise and muscle protein synthesis. Strength training following 90 minutes of strenuous arobic cycling led to suppressed protein synthesis. There was no mention of additional nutrition in this post 90 minute pre ride,.Post this 90 minute pree ride, which was also followed with 30 minutes ofrest. So basically, by all indications, these athletes went two hours without any sugar.
