We're born with the number of follicles that we have. It's typical for us to grow hair at the rate of about one centimeter per month. Melonine is the basic pigmentation that gives us any sort of colour in our body, absolutely both in our skin and in our hair. For most people, that's about a hundred thousand follicles for the average scalp. We do see it in people, thogh. I remember particularly seeing a photograph of barrack of barmer in two thousand and nine, perfectly dark hair. And then two thousand and 12, just three years later, and it's all gone white.
