Most people don't only want to contribute to the common good with their lives ecause they or so want, like havea personally fulfilling life. They also want o like, benefit their friends and family, like they care more about them than strangers. And that kind of shows that we care about people in general, at least to some extent. But it's often hard to tell, buti'm not sure f that is like, the most common difference. If you're focused on welfare, that might be welfare of sentient beings in general, not just humans.
