Do You Really Need a Reference?

When you ask for references, i be specific on the type of refer is that you want. And pending on a roll, it may be references outside of an organization. Do you really need to have a reference that someone who worked below them, worked alongside them and also worked above them? If you're provided with references that are all at the same level, go back to the executive and ask them for references at the levels they did not provide you.
