Anti-black racism is one of the largest threads throughout the tape. At one point Martinez curses the district attorney George Gascaux and says he's with the blacks. And then at one point she says Tans Faeo, which is ugly. That kind of othering and that ugliness is something that comes up quite a few times beyond any of the isolated comments.

Leaked audio revealed elected officials, including City Council President Nury Martinez, making xenophobic, homophobic, and racist statements about their colleagues and constituents. The city has united in fury.
