Is There a New Class of Quantum Particles?

There are particles out there that could be candidates for the ideal cubit. These are particles that th charley is calling topologically non trivial. They're more like strings than points, and when you move them around it's as if there's some string hanging under the table. As you manipulate these particles, those strings below the table can, in a certain sense, get braided together, get tied up and tangled in knots. That's the topologicallynon trivial thing that charley is hoping to exploit in a future quantum computer.
