Niger is interesting and troubling. Niger had really become kind of the locus of the kind of Western counter-terrorism approach in the region. Mali and Burkina were, you know, have employed approaches that have been highly counter productive. But at the same time they were doing that, Niger had a democratically, a genuinely democratically elected president.
