The Relationship Between Relativity and Post Modernism
In einstein's thought, there are two sides of the same coin. If you take a pencil and you look at it, you know, pointy, with a pointy side towards your eye, but safely away, you see it as a little circle or disk. So in three dimensions we see something constant. But when we project it into two dimensions or look at it in silhouette or in shadow form, we see all sorts of different things depending on our perspective. That's very analogous to what happens in relativity. For instance, starting around the turn of the nineteenth to twentieth century, franz boaz, the great anthropologist, begins to talk abot the relativity of cultures.
