Creating a Material That Dissipates Energy

These are woven yarns that are made from high tensile strength fibers. What you're kind of looking for is a balance between both tensile strength, but also tensile modulus. Think about a bullet coming in contact with some piece of cloth, right? It's going to depress and deform those fibers. And so if you can slow that down or create as many energy barriers to that movement as possible, that's really going to dissipate a lot of energy.
