Is There a Realist in Putnam?

Hilary putnam is very explicitly identified a as a pragmatist. He's against the idea that the world has character in itself, which we have to map our concepts and our thoughts on to. And he rejects perce's idea that we can make sense of a single, unified, ideal end point of inquiry. What counts as true is just what, as it were, all being well in an ideal situation. Nothing obscuring our vision, so to speak, is rationally acceptable.
