Chronic inflammation is a hallmark feature of many different chronic lifestyle diseases including some of the neurodegenerative ones that you mentioned earlier. I have read in a few places that the cold water exposure after exercise could attenuate some of the benefits from resistance training. The important message for anyone who owns a business and has lots of staff is find out a way to get your staff having cold showers exactly if productivity might go up.
