The Variability of Dietary Saturated Fat Intake
Dietary assessment was actually quite comprehensive for the time, even though it was in a sub study of participants. And what you ended up with was quite a significant range of variation of saturated fat intake from as low as 3% in the Ushibuka cohort to up to 24% of energy in the East Finnish cohort. One of the other issues that we raised was this moderating effect of blood cholesterol levels. We know that there is quite wide, inter-individual, and intra-individual variation in response to diet in terms of their bloodolesterol levels.
