The Culinary View of Squids and Their Relatives
The ancient Greeks had a much more empivulent view of what we call seafood. The sea was commonly referred to as being simply perfidious, because there was a dangerous place. And fish, including squid, were known to eat humans. So the idea of eating an animal that eats humans tends to stir the stomach.
