When we grow up in an environment where all emotions are allowed, the relationship between us and our emotions becomes very muddied. Lik you'll see this often in em if you've grown up in a family with a volatile parent. We learn these crucial, literally lifelong skills through just being able to feel these normal emotions. When instead, we have a parent who jumps in and says, oh, you said, let's bak cup cakes,. I want o kind of take your sadness away. Message that you start getting is that sadness is bad. That only when i feel happy is the way out. And so what we actually start doing as humans is becoming fearful of our difficult emotions
