Mauritius Voted Against Delimitation of the Maritime Boundary
The Maldives were the only G77 country to vote with the UK and the US. Mauritius has an excellent relationship both with the United States and is very committed to the base at Diego Garcia going forward over the very long term. Of those 28 international judges, not one has supported the UK claim to sovereignty. Four have said that the tribunal has no jurisdiction to determine the matter while 24 or 23 have ruled that Mauritius is sovereign.
