The Battle of Quebec
The siege of Quebec would begin in late July 1759 and conclude on September 18. During the initial landing near Quebec, the French sent some fireboats against the British ships. Cook did well, launching boats with grappling hooks and towing away some of these fireboats. The fall of Quebec was the beginning of the end for the French. Within a year, an attempt to retake Quebec would be repulsed, and the British would capture Montreal.
