Religion and the Constitution - The Two Greatest Social Movements
Adrian Woldridge: America's separation of church and state is good for both religion and the state. The constitution allows religious people to compete vigorously for converts, but keeps churches firmly apart from the state. There are no bishop in the upper chamber, as in britain, no church taxes, as in germany. But at the same time it estus the obsessive lasite of the french state. It is a shining example to the world that it is not only possible to live in a world in which god and modernity are both present, it is possible to flourish.
