Antisense Oligonucleotides - A Single-Stringed Version of RNA
Antisense oligonucleotides is a single-stranded version of RNA. It offers two really important qualities amongst other things, including that it can get to the nucleus quite efficiently. Because we're targeting RNA, we can take advantage of what's called Watson-Krick base pairing. And so that allows us to create programmable antisense oligo-therapeutics to essentially be specific for every disease in every regulatory RNA we want to go after.
